Toronto's newest and most innovative sports facility is Central Tech Stadium. This $5 million+ stadium is conveniently located in Toronto just south of Bloor and Bathurst. The stadium is located directly behind Central Tech School at the corner of Bathurst and Harbord. The parking lot is on Borden street and the entrance to the stadium can be located off of Harbord Street. Central Tech Stadium offers users a state-of-the-art athletic facility that provides the "best of the best" including: an artificial turf field by Field Turf, a Beynon BSS1000 running track surface, Musco Sports Lights and a Farley Group winter dome. Central Tech Stadium will also include full service washrooms and a community room.
The new state-of-the-art artificial Field Turf includes a full size 11 v 11 soccer field and also acts as a full NFL size football field. The field includes four mini-soccer fields (measuring approx. 100 feet x 220 feet each). This makes Central Tech Stadium ideal for all field sports including: soccer, ultimate frisbee, football, rugby, field hockey, baseball and Aussie rules football.
CTS also provides equipment for soccer including permanent aluminum soccer nets for 11 v 11, 9 v 9, 7 v 7 and 5 v 5. We also have other sports equipment including lacrosse nets, baseballs and Frisbees.
Central Tech Stadium has the only divider net system in the City of Toronto that allows user groups to share the field with various teams/clubs and play various games at the same time. Central tech Stadium is also the only turf fields in the city lined for 9 v 9 games.
Central Tech Stadium track is 400m long. The track is a six-lane Beynon track situated around the field allowing CTS users to warm up and cool down on a high end track before and after field time in the outdoor season. Parents also have the ability to run and train during their child's practice.
Including a blue 13 mm polyurethane (BSS 1000) surface, this is the same track used by many US Division I Universities. The track is ideal for runners and walkers who require a soft and comfortable surface for training during the winter or summer months. CTS track is also marked for many distances (60m, 100m, 150m, 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m, 1,000m, 1,500m, 1 mile, 2,000m, 3,000m, 5,000m, 10,000m).
Central Tech Stadium is open late and lit with the best sports lighting systems available. Musco Sports Lighting poles provide over 50 foot candles of light on the playing surface. The normal light level on most school and City of Toronto facilities is 25-30 foot candles.
The full field is covered from November to April allowing users to train through the cold winter months. The fields are also available during the winter months with state-of-the-art lightning unlike any sports dome in Toronto.
